Part II: Choices, Choices, Choices!

In this segment, you’ll learn what to consider and how to strategically plan your book. We’ll discuss pros and cons of various themes, and there will be time to brainstorm and share ideas. At the end of this session, you should have a working idea of your book’s topic and a clear picture of the available options for publishing.

Part III: Mind-Map Your Content

In this hands-on portion of the workshop, you’ll use big paper to map out what you need to cover in your book, and begin brainstorming ideas and anecdotes to make it all come alive. The mind-mapping process is a simple organic tool that you’ll be able use for many things in the future.

Part IV: Draft your Book Proposal

No matter what publication option you choose, drafting a book proposal will help you clarify your message, your market, and your outline. Once this is done, writing is almost like filling in the blanks.

Part V: Writing Your Book: You’ve Got Options!

Don’t feel as if spending hours over the computer keyboard is the only way to write your book. There are many ways of getting what you know on paper, including talking your book, re-purposing content you’ve already written, using a ghostwriter, and more. There’s really no excuse for putting off the final step, so listen hard, ask questions, and choose the option that will work best for you!

Part VI: Getting Your Book into the Right Hands

Once you’ve written a book, you’ll want to get it to your target audience. We’ll briefly discuss your author website, social media strategies, and other simple ways of getting your book into the right hands. Remember, your book will be a 24/7 ambassador for you, so it’s important to get it out where people can find it.

Part VII: You As An Author

Once you’ve written your book, you’ll find new opportunities opening up to you. How can you be ready to leverage these opportunities for additional growth? It pays to think ahead and plan what you’ll do when success comes calling!
